After a lovely summer, autumn has started in the Netherlands, an interesting season where the leaves are changing to their beautiful autumn colors, the Dutch starts dreaming about skating on the canals, eating their traditional pea soup and enjoying the festive wintertime. Let me tell you about some new features in Holland that I think are interesting for your clients.
The Amsterdam Dance Event will take place from October 18 till 22. The leading electronic music platform is the biggest club festival in the world. Many famous (Dutch) DJ’s will perform. A must go for music lovers.
The Amsterdam light festival starting November 30th, where 40 artworks and installations will light up the city and canals, among which a light object by the Chinese artist and activist Ai WeiWei (till January 21st).
For the first time, also the Zaanse Schans windmill village will form the décor of the Winterschans 1717. Step back in time to the late seventeenth century, when a group of wealthy merchants visited this area. Discover the windmills at nightfall, art and craft and folklore. It is fascinating how much food is playing a role in the history, the habits and developments of a country. During a historic food tour, escorted by a young food writer and researcher, you will really learn what Rembrandt had for dinner, how Heineken beer became internationally famed and what the latest food trends are. On the Amsterdam Dinner Train, you can experience the Netherlands and the countryside from a different way. Departing on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from Central station for a 2h45m journey through the green heart of the Netherlands while a 4-course dinner is served in a romantic setting. As only new hotel projects with an added value and a unique proposition are given a permit by the city, the hotel portfolio in Amsterdam is more and more diverse and characteristic. In November the all-suite, private hotel TwentySeven will open on the top floor of a private business club on Dam square. 16 deluxe and unique suites with a fine dining restaurant.
